Tried to get a new dell laptop working with SuSE. Uses some i890 chipset for video that was having issues. Played with palm apps.
Updated and odd Apache/mod_perl/mod_ssl on Solaris config to deal with the chunking vulnerability. Appears to have worked the first time. Cowered in fear of the unknown.

Installed linux on a friends new Inspiron 2600, discovering in the process that it uses the i830 for graphics - main memory instead of dedicated VRAM. Ugh. Tried to SWIG Libnet but got bogged down in weirdness with disappearing methods/symbols. May give the Ruby dynamic linker library a try since it's now part of the primary (dev) distribution.
